Privacy and Security: Our Primary Focus
PageMe’s goal is to protect personal health information at the highest level. We do this by applying all the necessary security measures within the PageMe app so that organizations and healthcare professionals can communicate securely on their mobile devices without breaking PHIPA regulations.
PageMe’s end-to-end encryption is available in the latest version of the app (V3.0.8).
What is End-to-End Encryption?
End-to-end Encryption is associated with communication channels, chat, audio or video calls. The main property of end-to-end encryption is that the data is encrypted on the one end and decrypted on the other end, being unreadable along the way. Your messages are secured with a lock, and only the recipient and you have the unique key to unlock and read them. For added protection, every message you send has its own unique lock and key. The process happens automatically behind the scenes each time you send a message. All you need to do is type and send like usual: PageMe does the rest.
PageMe’s server-side encryption serves to protect data going through our server: once the data arrives, the server encrypts it. The data is also encrypted ‘on the way’ to the server (end-to-end encryption).
